SCPD Investigating Lake Grove Civil War Cemetery Desecration

SCPD is seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person(s) who stole flags from Civil War graves and damaged property at a cemetery in Lake Grove in October of 2014.

Lake Grove, NY - October 28th, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fourth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person(s) who stole flags from Civil War graves and damaged property at a cemetery in Lake Grove in October of 2014.

On October 10 through October 13, 2014, an unknown person(s) stole two American flags, damaged the metal support of a grave stone, and moved two flower wreaths off their intended graves at the Lake Ronkonkoma Cemetery.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
