Great Neck, NY - August, 22nd, 2013 - This fall, the Gold Coast Arts Center will present the 3rd annual Gold Coast International Film Festival (GCIFF) from October 21-27, 2013.  Everyone’s invited for another round of fantastic films, parties, panels, and fanfare. Since GCIFF’s inception, the festival and year-round film series have successfully brought the latest Hollywood hits and Indie favorites to the North Shore of Long Island--along with A-list celebrities and unforgettable events. GCIFF has quickly gained the reputation of the “go to” Festival as it’s the last major Festival on the East Coast before award season.

This year, greater Long Island will become “Laugh Island” as The Gold Coast International Film Festival (GCIFF) shines a spotlight on Comedy with a program of films and events with legendary comedians, writers and actors. The Line-up so far features Susie Essman (HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm) who will be honored at this year’s Opening Night Benefit Gala, Joe Piscopo (NBC’s Saturday Night Live),Eddie Griffin (Norbit), Jackie (The Joke Man) Martling (formerly of The Howard Stern Show) and Paul Provenza (The Aristocrats) who will bring to the Festival his world famous, star-studded presentation of “Set-List, Stand Up Comedy Without a Net.” Comedy Writer/Producer Jeffrey Gurian, known by everyone in the comedy world, is Exec. Producing the live events for the Laugh Island program. 

Other highlights of the film festival will feature focuses on Women in Film, Israeli film and films for GCIFF’s annual Heroes theme. Most noteworthy is that GCIFF screens many great pre-release films that, in the months to come, will become awards contenders.

Regina Keller Gil, Founder and Executive Director of both the Gold Coast Arts Center and the Gold Coast International Film Festival said: “The last 20 years have been fruitful and exciting, as we built the only not-for-profit multi-arts center and school that led to the founding of the first Gold Coast International Film Festival. Our mission has been to promote and support the arts and in particular, film, throughout our Long Island community through education, exhibition, performance and outreach. To that end, we can take pride in the thousands of students, residents and audiences who benefit each year from our presence here.”
