Southampton, NY - July 4, 2015 - The New York State Police SP Riverside Barracks is currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred on the Shinnecock Indian Reservation in Southampton.
On July 4th at approximately 12:40 AM, Troopers were notified of a gunshot wound victim being treated at Southampton Hospital. The victim was stabilized and air lifted to University Medical Center in Stony Brook for further treatment. Investigation revealed the incident occurred on the Shinnecock Reservation in the vicinity of Little Beach Road. The victim’s name is currently being withheld pending investigation.
During the course of the investigation Mark M. Williams, age 33, a resident of the Reservation, was arrested when he impeded the crime scene investigation. The investigation is on-going.
