Heaviest snow and strongest winds this morning. * Impacts...life-threatening conditions and extremely dangerous travel due to heavy snowfall and strong winds...with whiteout conditions. Many roads may become impassable. Strong winds may down power lines and tree limbs. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Motorcyclist Killed in Huntington Crash

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Huntington last night.

Huntington, NY - June 13th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Huntington last night.

Craig Byer was driving a 2002 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Elm Street and lost control of the motorcycle at the intersection with Nassau Road. Byer skidded through the intersection, hit a curb and was ejected off his motorcycle.

Byer, 42, of Huntington, was transported to Huntington Hospital where he died of his injuries.

The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
