The Hofstra Arena goes by many names. Officially, it is the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex and the Mack Sports Complex for short. Others refer to it as simply “The Mack.” It is a 5,124-seat, air conditioned, multi-purpose arena at the Hofstra University campus in Hempstead. It is equipped with a state-of-the-art electronic scoreboard, men’s and women’s locker rooms, a training room, a large weight room, four concession stands, five ticket windows, six luxury boxes and a Hofstra Price Club lounge. The arena opened in 1999, replacing the Physical Fitness Center, and is home to the Hofstra University Pride men’s and women’s basketball teams and the nationally ranked Pride wrestling team. Hofstra Arena hosts many events outside of sporting events year –round including college fairs, exhibitions, trade shows, concerts and in 2008 it hosted the final Presidential Debate of the U.S Presidential Debate between John McCain and Barack Obama.
