Strong Island Derby Revolution (SIDR) is a brand new All-Female Flat Track derby league, established in of Spring 2011 after a fallout between members of the Long Island Roller Rebels. As roller derby is a "for the skaters, by the skaters" type of sport SIDR held an End of Summer Car Wash and Halloween Fundraiser is order to raise money to help buy uniforms and derby equipment. Their debut bout was held in mid-November against Shoreline Roller Derby, a Connecticut team. The Strong Island Derby girls are proud to represent Long Island and aim to build a positive athletic environment that promotes healthy competition and team work through hard-work, respect, dedication and above all, love of the sport. SIDR is always looking for new skaters, officials and volunteers.
