Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA)

Railroad workers face a lot of risks on the job. The Federal Employers' Liability Act (FELA) was passed by Congress to solve this problem. The law exempts employers from the state's workers compensation laws. The law also allows for the determination of monetary compensation by juries on the basis of the concept of comparative negligence.
