Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA)

Rail workers face a lot of dangers when working. This is among the reasons why Congress approved the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA). The law allows them to be exempt from the state workers' compensation laws. The law also allows for monetary compensation that are determined by juries based on the comparative negligence.
