Federal Employers Liability Act

The federal employees liability act (FELA) allows railroad workers to file lawsuits against their employers. Contrary to the laws regarding workmen's compensation, which provide payouts regardless of the fault of the railroad, FELA requires plaintiffs to prove that the railroad's negligence caused their injuries.
