Federal Employers Liability Act

The risk of serious injuries and deaths in railroad jobs prompted Congress to approve the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) in 1908. FELA changed the law of the land by allowing injured workers to seek damages even in the event that their employer was not negligent.

It also allows them to file a claim without the fear of losing their job
