The Federal Employers Liability Act

The Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA) was passed in 1908 to help protect railroad workers. FELA allows railroad workers to sue their employers for damages, which includes ones that aren't covered by standard workers' compensation laws. This includes negligence claims and damages that are not diminished by the worker's assumption risk.
