Federal Employers Liability Act For Railroad Workers

Railroad workers work in dangerous work environments, which is why they require protection. Congress passed the Federal Employers Liability Act, or FELA, in 1908. The law allows railroad workers who are injured to sue their employers. The law also establishes uniform liability standards across the industry.
