Officials: Two Arrests Made in Connection with Copiague Jewelry Store Robbery

Copiague, NY - December 12, 2017 - Suffolk County Police have arrested two men in connection with a jewelry store robbery that occurred in Copiague, New York.
 
Cody Costa entered Nathan Jewelry, located at 854 Montauk Highway, on December 11 at approximately 3 p.m., displayed a knife and what appeared to be a handgun and demanded cash from an employee. The employee complied and Costa fled on foot.
 
A short time later, a 911 caller reported she saw a suspicious man, who had his face covered, enter a red vehicle, operated by another man, in a parking lot a short distance from the jewelry store. The description of the suspicious person matched the description of the robber.  
 
The descriptions of the suspect and vehicle were broadcast over the police radio and First Precinct police officers stopped the vehicle at the corner of Great Neck Road and Scudder Avenue in Copiague at 3:12 p.m. and arrested Costa and the driver, Seth Marion.
 
First Squad detectives charged Costa, 23, of Copiague, and Marion, 56, of Lindenhurst, with Robbery 1st Degree. They were scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on December 12.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
