Far Rockaway Man Arrested After Carjacking Female Victim at Gunpoint

Defendant Amir Simmons of Far Rockaway, 20, is charged with Robbery, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.

The Third Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 7:25 pm in Williston Park.
 
According to detectives, a 50-year-old female was exiting her parked 2020 white Ford Escape SUV on Stratford Avenue when an unknown male subject approached and pointed a black handgun at her demanding she exit the car. The subject then left with her vehicle and traveled north on Stratford Avenue. There were no injuries reported. The investigation is ongoing.
 
Defendant Amir Simmons, 20, of 1502 Mott Avenue, Far Rockaway was arrested for the above listed incident. He is charged with Robbery 1st degree. Defendant Amir Simmons is also charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle 3rd degree for another incident that occurred on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 11:40 AM. 
 
He was arraigned on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
