A decade ago the first DJ’s Clam Shack opened its doors on Duval Street in Key West. Sensing a sensation in the making, the owners brought their restaurant north to Long Island and have locations in Wantagh, Northport, and Huntington.

Now, according to a story on GreaterLongIsland.com, DJ’s Clam Shack is getting ready to open a new location in Stony Brook at the old D.P. Dough site.

The menu at most of their stores is baked with all your favorites plus a few surprises. They offer a slate of items including homemade New England Clam Chowder ($7), Maine Lobster roll with coleslaw ($18), Kung Pow Calamari ($12), and Garlic Steamed Little Neck Clams with jalapenos ($14.50). Fried favorites include Clam Strips ($11) and  Conch Fritters ($11). They also offer tacos with shrimp ($13), Mahi Mahi ($13), chicken ($12) or roast pork ($11).

According to the GreaterLongIsland.com story, the new Stony Brook location will be slightly different than the rest.

“It’s gonna be quick service and same exact menu as the other DJ’s on Long Island,” he told the news outlet. “It’s gonna be a little more takeout.”

Location: 1007 NY-25A, Stony Brook.
