For the Coastal Flood Statement, up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. * WHERE...Northwest Suffolk County. * WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 11 PM this evening to 3 AM EDT Friday. For the Coastal Flood Statement, late Friday night. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding.

Police Respond to Call for Shots Fired, Man & Woman Found with Gun Shot Wounds

The Fifth Squad is investigating an Assault that occurred on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at 11:30 PM in Elmont.
 
According to Detectives, 911 dispatchers received a call for shots fired at 31 Joan Court.  Police Officers arrived and found a 31-year-old female with gunshot wounds to both of her legs. She was transported to an area hospital by NCPD Ambulance and is in stable condition. A second victim, a 25-year-old male, also sustained a gunshot would to his leg and was transported to an area hospital in a private vehicle. He is also in stable condition.
 
The investigation is ongoing.
