We love sci-fi and comic book culture but sometimes a ticket to Comic-Con just isn’t in the cards. Instead, consider these conventions that are closer to home on Long Island.

 

Long Island’s Doctor Who Convention - Single day and full weekend passes available. There will be a full program of events and presentations. Guests include Paul McGann, best known to Doctor Who fans as the eighth incarnation of our favorite Time Lord from Gallifrey,  Sacha Dhawan, who played The Master, and Wolf and Katy Manning who played Jo Grant. When: August 18-20, 2023. Where:  Holiday Inn Long Island, 1730 N. Ocean Avenue, Holtsville.

 

Long Island Tropic Con: Pop Culture Expo - With the very best Pop Culture vendors and artists the Tri-State area has to offer, Tropic Con is THE place to be! If you love cosplay, collectibles, anime, gaming, comics, Sci-Fi, fantasy, and so much more, this is the Pop Culture paradise for you!! When: August 19-20, 2023. Where: Hyatt Regency Long Island, 1717 Motor Pkwy, Hauppauge.

 

Route 110 Comic Show - Long Island's Monthly Comic Book Show! 3rd Sunday of every month. Wall to wall comics and comic related merchandise. All Upcoming Dates: Aug 20th and Sep 17th. Where: Route 110 Bingo Hall, 585 Broadhollow Road, Melville.

 

IT'S TOY TIME Collectible Toy Show - Admission is only $5 and kids under 12 are free. Vintage to current toys, action figures, playsets, parts, statues, die-casts and more. When: Saturday, September 30, 2023. Where: VFW Hall - Post 3211, 320 S. Broadway, Hicksville.
