The Ficodis Group based in Montreal has acquired Bohemia-based Blue Point Tool and Supply, expanding into the United States .
Ficodis said the deal, its 15th acquisition, “will offer a first access to the U.S. market for the whole group, while adding leading expertise to the team.”
Ficodis added that Blue Point Tool and Supply, which specializes in products and services for metal working, will expand “its footprint into the Canadian market, also serving the provinces of Quebec and Ontario.”
Bulle Point Tool and Supply has a half dozen outside sales representatives as well as an in-house technical specialist and phone support.
It also has more than 50,000 supplies and 400 lines of products in-stock in its Bohemia warehouse.
Ficodis Group President Christophe Bévillard said Blue Point Tool and Supply has “a well-established reputation, a knowledgeable sales team, quality products at competitive prices, and superior customer service.”
Ficodis was founded in 2010, growing through acquisitions, including Blue Point, which Bévillard described as “another valuable asset added to the group.”
Blue Point Tool Supply founder Dave Monheit will assist with the transition over the next few months, according to Ficodis. Mark Rollino, of Blue Point Tool and Supply, will serve as president of Blue Point Tool and Supply under the Ficodis Group.
“Ficodis will assist in creating additional resources for growth and expansion throughout our customer base in order to accommodate their ever-changing needs,” Rollino said in a written statement.
