The Shoreham-Wading River High School community came together on Saturday, May 10, for the 16th Annual Lax Out Cancer fundraiser, an event dedicated to supporting local families impacted by cancer. The highly anticipated lacrosse matchup between Shoreham-Wading River and Comsewogue High School drew a spirited crowd.
This year, five local families battling cancer were chosen as beneficiaries of the event’s fundraising efforts. Through donations, raffles, and community participation, the initiative continues to provide financial and emotional support to those in need.
Distinguished guests, including Brookhaven Town Supervisor Dan Panico and Wounded Army Warrior John Fernandez, attended the event, emphasizing the unwavering dedication of the community to making a meaningful difference.
Beyond the game, attendees enjoyed a day filled with raffles, food, music, and entertainment. The Lax Out Cancer initiative, which began in 2009, has become a cherished tradition, bringing together athletes, families, and supporters in the fight against cancer.
