NCPD reports the arrest of Luis Hernandez of Roosevelt, 36, for DWI.

Hewlett, NY - January 21, 2019 - The Nassau County Police Department reports the arrest of a Roosevelt man for DWI – Leandra’s Law at 1:20am on Monday, January 21, 2019 in Hewlett.
 
According to Police, defendant Luis Hernandez, 36, was involved in an auto accident located at Broadway and Rockaway Avenue in Hewlett where his 2002 Toyota RAV4 struck a telephone pole. 
 
The vehicle’s passengers included one adult male, 26, one adult female, 27, and two minor children ages 1 and 3 years old. The occupants were transported to a local area hospital for precautionary evaluations and the minor children were released into the custody of their mother.  
 
Subsequently the investigation led to the arrest of Defendant Luis Hernandez, he is charged with two counts of Aggravated DWI – Leandra’s Law, two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, DWI and Unlicensed Operator. Defendant Hernandez will be arraigned on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
