Mangano (left) commended Mary Anne Hanson of Malverne and Tim Sullivan of Rockville Centre for their continued efforts in raising funds for the Wounded Warrior Project and their expansion of events and programs for Long Island Veterans.

Both residents are working with a team of people in a grass-roots effort to make Veterans Day more recognized and celebrated in our communities, as well as ensuring the proper recognition of a rapidly growing younger veteran population.

It is vital that we remember the sacrifices of our veterans and support them whenever and wherever possible.
