Orient Point, with 45,000 feet of shorefront on Gardiner's Bay, is home to a rare maritime forest comprised of red cedar, black-jack oak, and prickly pear cactus.

The beach is known for relaxing, picnicking and various recreational activities. Visitors can also fish, kayak and paddle board. The beach also offers kayaking tours either by the park or through a partner company.

Great Blue Herons, Egrets, Black Crowned Night Herons, and Osprey are all commonly spotted at the beach, making it a popular spot for bird watchers.
