The Friends of Caleb Smith Preserve run several events to benefit the 543-acre Caleb Smith State Park Preserve in Smithtown. These include: Annual Junior Angler’s Fishing Tournament, Annual Adult Fly Fishing Tournament, and a lively Fall Festival with a host of attractions in October that coincides with its Scarecrow Scamper, of scarecrows created by local groups and individuals.

The Park operates a unique Nature Museum with interactive nature displays, environmental education and recreational programs, cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails, fly fishing, and guided nature trail walks. Caleb Smith State Park Preserve is located on Jericho Turnpike [Route 25] west of Smithtown’s downtown.
