Parks & Trails New York (PTNY) is New York’s leading statewide advocate for parks and trails, dedicated since 1985 to improving our health, economy, and quality of life through the use and enjoyment of green space. PTNY has worked with hundreds of community organizations and municipalities to envision, create, promote, and protect a growing network of parks and more than 1,500 miles of greenways, bike paths, and trails throughout New York State.
PTNY organizes and advocates on behalf of the 62 million people who vote with their feet by visiting New York’s state parks each year. Through I Love My Park Day, our annual statewide event, we bring together the people who use and love parks, Friends organizations that support our state parks and historic sites, and other environmental organizations to promote and protect parks for future generations.
Every summer, PTNY organizes the Cycling the Erie Canal Bike Tour along the 360-mile historic Erie Canal. PTNY also organizes bike tours in the Hudson Valley and promotes cycling tourism across New York State.
PTNY is committed to enhancing the quality of life for everyone in New York by improving and increasing access to parks and trails so individuals can enjoy the outdoors and all the benefits of nature close to home.
