The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of an Island Park man for a Robbery that occurred in Island Park on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 10;20 am.
According to detectives, an 18-year-old male victim was inside a Brighton Road residence waiting for his female friend at which time the defendant Xavier Sosa, 23 of Brighton Road ordered the victim to leave his residence. After the victim gathered his belongings and then exited the defendant Sosa hit the victim’s head with his hand causing the victim to fall to the ground.
He then repeatedly punched the victim in the head using a closed fist. After falling, the victim attempted to pick up his belongings but was forced out of the house by the defendant and not allowed to retrieve his property. The victim suffered swelling to his face and head and was
transported in a Nassau County Police Ambulance to a local nearby hospital for treatment.
Defendant Sosa is charged with Robbery 2 nd Degree and Assault 2 nd Degree. He will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday, December 3, 2023.
