Man in Serious Vehicular Accident After Car Overturns and Hits Tree in Roslyn Heights

Driver listed in critical condition. There is no apparent criminality. The investigation is ongoing.

Roslyn Heights, NY - February 20, 2017 - The Third Squad is investigating a Serious Vehicular Accident that occurred on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 11:54 am in Roslyn Heights.

According to detectives, a 33 year old male was operating a 2003 Chevrolet east on the 495 Long Island Expressway South Service Road in the vicinity of Brower’s Lane. The driver lost control striking a curb causing the auto to overturn and strike a tree. Third Precinct Police along with the Emergency Services Unit responded and removed the driver who was pinned in the auto. The male victim was then transported to a local hospital in a Nassau County Police Ambulance and treated for severe chest and back injuries. The victim is listed in critical condition.

The auto was impounded for a brake and safety check. There is no apparent criminality. The investigation is ongoing.
