December may be the start of the winter season, but here on Long Island, it won't be difficult to stay warm thanks to an unbelievable amount of activities and family entertainment! Throughout the month, Festivals & Fairs will allow families to spend time together while enjoying tasty treats, participating in crafting projects, and shopping for holiday gifts sold by local vendors.

With Hanukkah beginning on Saturday, December 24th, and Christmas falling on Sunday, December 25th, the end-of-the-year holidays are packed together to ensure that there will be plenty of festivities to attend! Leading up to the holidays are dozens of Christmas Tree Lightings, Menorah Lightings, Holiday Parades, Holiday Light Shows, Theater Performances, and Santa Brunches!

Between the holidays, there are plenty of assorted entertainment options to enjoy as well, including Nature Hikes, Concerts and Live Shows, Educational Events, and much more! Hopefully you’ll be able to squeeze all of the fun in by the end of the month, since on December 31st, Long Island will come alive with New Year’s Eve celebrations!
