Attention Long Island athletes: Registration is now open for the Town of Hempstead’s 36th Annual Triathlon. This is Long Island’s only ocean triathlon and features a 3/4-mile ocean swim, 10-mile bike ride, and 3-mile run. The event takes place on Saturday, September 25 at Town Park Point Lookout. Start time is 8 a.m.
The registration fee is $48.50 for Town of Hempstead residents, $72.50 non-residents, and $24.25 for resident seniors and veterans. Registration deadline is Monday, August 23 and is limited to 200 participants.
Not participating? Residents in the community are welcome to cheer the athletes on as they compete in this test of endurance and skill.
