TOBay's Veteran Services Division 2009: About Us Welcome home and thank you for your service to our country for those who served in Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Town of Oyster Bay's Veteran Services Division is ready to help you obtain the benefits available to you as a result of your service to your country, some of which include: Five Years of Enhanced Health Care. You are eligible to receive enhanced VA health care benefits for 5 years following your military separation date. Whether or not you choose to use VA health care after separation, you must enroll with VA within 5 years to get health care benefits later on. Dental Benefits. You may be eligible for one-time dental care but you must apply for a dental exam within 180 days of your separation date. OEF/OIF Program. Every VA Medical Center has a team standing ready to welcome OIF/OEF service members and help coordinate their care. Non-Health Benefits. Other benefits available include: financial benefits, home loans, vocational rehabilitation, education, and more. We recognize that your service has its affect not only on you, but also on your loved-ones. It affects you and your family both individually and as a family unit. As such we stand ready to help you and your family with respect to a variety of services, including: Emotional Support; Traumatic Brain Injury; Children's Services; Family Support; Military Sexual Trauma; Bereavement Counseling; Addiction / Gambling; Educational Services; Employment / Vocational Training; Small Business Support; Housing For Veterans; Social Security Disability; Nursing Home / Adult Day Care, and; Emergency / Crisis counseling. For all our veterans and their families, we stand ready to assist you. What follows are web-sites that provide information on Veterans benefits and how to file/ask for them. There are many sites that explain how to obtain books, military/medical records, information and how to appeal a denied claim with the VA. Nearly 100% of this information is without charge and available for all veterans, the only catch is you have to ask for it. That's where we can help. We know what questions to ask so the right doors open for you -- and then we are ready to work with and for you, stay in the process, and press for your rights and your best interests.
