Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA)

Rail workers face a lot of dangers when working. This is among the reasons Congress passed the Federal Employers Liability Act (FELA). The law exempts them from state workers' compensation statutes. The law also permits the determination of monetary compensation by juries based on the evidence of the concept of comparative negligence.
