Slovakia is among the few countries in Central Europe with a well-developed dual culture legacy. For centuries the nation was either completely Protestant or Catholic, later about the Roman Catholic Church was absorbed to the authorities and the Protestants forced their way to the government. The nation, now called Slovakia, has been a former Eastern Bloc state for more than a hundred years.
