Huntington Man Arrested for Offering Money to Children to Show Underwear and Private Parts

Suffolk County Police today arrested a store clerk for offering children to expose themselves for money in Huntington tonight.

Huntington, NY - May 9, 2015 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a store clerk for offering children to expose themselves for money in Huntington tonight.

Two boys and two girls between the ages of 11 and 14-years-old walked into the Jericho Convenience store when they were confronted by an employee, Bitinkunar Patel at approximately 7:20 p.m. Patel asked the kids if they were wearing underwear. When the children answered, Patel offered them money if they showed him their underwear and private parts.

Second Precinct Patrol Officers Robert Mahady and Michael Yonelunas responded and arrested Patel.

Patel, 35, of Huntington, was arrested and charged with four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He was released and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on July 7.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
