The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a Small Craft Advisory...which is in effect until 6 am EST Wednesday. The Gale Warning has been cancelled. * Winds and seas...north winds 20 to 30 kt. Occasional gusts up to 35 kt early this morning. Seas 4 to 8 feet across the Long Island Sound. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Small Craft Advisory means that sustained wind speeds or frequent gusts of 25 to 33 kt and/or seas of 5 ft or higher are expected or occurring...and hazardous to small craft. Man Wanted for Robbing Capitol One in Center Moriches

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who robbed a Center Moriches bank last August.

Center Moriches, NY - January 21st, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who robbed a Center Moriches bank last August. 
 
A man entered Capital One, located at 500 Main St., on August 9 at 12:37 p.m. and handed the teller a note demanding cash. The teller complied with the man’s demands and he then fled on foot, last seen traveling northbound on Chichester Avenue. 
 
The man was described as black, approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall in his early 40s with a skinny build and goatee. He was wearing a blue windbreaker with a blue and white hat, blue jeans and dark sunglasses. 
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
