We stayed here for a little bit before we moved to the area, and it was a pleasant place. Our room was clean every day, and the grounds were very nice. We will recommend them to anyone who comes to visit us.

The inn has its high points and its low points. I was not a fan of the design of the room I stayed in. It was clean and everything, but it it left something to be desired in terms of elegance. I guess I expected more from a Long Island hotel. But, the location was wonderful! I spent a lot of time sitting outside instead of in my room. Also, you couldn't ask for better in terms of service. So overall, a solid 4 out of 5 points.

Very lovely spot for an inn. I spent a lot of time out back by the pond doing work while I was here, and it was a very relaxing spot to get through it. Also in a good location right near the harbor with some nice restaurants nearby.

So .... I wasn't really expecting much when I came to stay here. It looked pretty average from the front, just another motel, right? But they have these gorgeous grounds around the back, a beautiful garden and this really beautiful tranquil pond. It's actually a very lovely spot, in many ways more what I would have expected from a B&B than a standard motel. The room was pretty average, but the grounds and the surroundings really made this an above-average stay.

I've heard people refer to the interiors of the rooms in the Chalet Inn as "dated" (namely my colleagues, who were traveling with me on a business trip). I could see where they were coming from, but "old fashioned" is probably the term I would use instead. And to me, that was kind of of pleasant. The rooms were very comfortable and well furnished (despite some of the furnishings and decor obviously being old). And they were clean, which is the most important consideration in my eyes. Bathrooms were also clean and well stocked. The price was extremely reasonable, and what I got was what I expected at that price level. So I was very pleased with the Chalet overall, and would certainly stay here again next time I am in town. And that includes if I am traveling for pleasure, not business.
