Assemblyman Ed Ra (R-Franklin Square) joined the eighth-grade students from Notre Dame School in New Hyde Park as the students were visited by 18 military veterans to interview them about their military experience and how it impacted their lives. Sketches and biographies were crafted for these veterans. The paintings were then completed and will be displayed at the Long Island Children’s Museum throughout the month of November to commemorate Veterans Day.

“I was once again honored to participate in this year's Veterans Portrait Project. These wonderful students had a tremendous opportunity to pay respects to the great heroes who live in our communities. This event will help veterans keep their stories alive and connect with young people by engaging in a unique, interdisciplinary project,” said Ra.
