Police Seeking Motorist Involved in Copiague Hit-and-Run Crash that Killed Teen Pedestrian

Amir Porterfield, 15, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip where he died from his injuries, cops say.

Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a teenage pedestrian in Copiague on Thursday, November 2.
 
Amir Porterfield was walking at the crosswalk on eastbound Sunrise Highway at 35th Street when he was struck by Anne Williams driving a 1999 Subaru. Porterfield was lying in the roadway and was struck by another driver, who fled.
 
Porterfield and Williams were transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip.
 
Porterfield, 15, of Copiague, died from his injuries. Williams, 65, of Lindenhurst, was treated for non- life-threatening injuries.
 
The Subaru was impounded for a safety check.
