Two People Killed and Five People Injured in Motor Vehicle Crash, SCPD Reports

Brentwood, NY - August 13, 2018 - Suffolk County Police Third Squad Detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed two people and injured five others in Brentwood on Sunday, August 12, 2018.
 
Olvin Jimenez was driving a 1997 Toyota Corolla southbound on Crooked Hill Road when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed into the northbound lane, where the vehicle was struck by a 2005 Toyota RAV4 at approximately 1:38 p.m.
 
Both the driver of the Corolla, Olvin Jimenez, 39, and front seat passenger Erica Jimenez-Mejia, 39, of Brentwood, were pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
 
Two children, ages two and ten, who were passengers in the back seat of the Corolla, were transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip for treatment of serious injuries.
 
The driver of the RAV4, Allissiana Rose Licata, 21, and passengers Nicholas Licata, 17, and Emmanuel Licata, 73, all of Bay Shore were transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
