Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding.

Suffolk County Sheriff's Office Academy Bureau Graduates 12 New Peace Officers

The New Peace Officers Come from Eight Different Agencies

On Monday, May 9, 2022, twelve new Peace Officers from outside agencies completed their course of study and graduated from the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Academy Bureau. The Peace Officers come from the Town of Babylon Department of Public Safety, the Town of Brookhaven Department of Public Safety, Hunts Point Terminal Produce Market, the Southold Town Constable, NYS Department of Financial Services Insurance Fraud, the Southampton Town Fire Marshal, Suffolk County Parks and Recreation, and the Suffolk County SPCA.

The Suffolk County Sheriff’s Officer regularly holds this Peace Officer Academy class for various agencies in and around Suffolk County. The class lasts for five weeks and includes firearms training, defensive tactics, legal issues, professional communication, ethics, and much more.
