Man Gets into Scuffle with Security Guard While Attempting Heist from Hewlett Supermarket; Police Currently Seeking Suspect

The Fourth Squad reports on a Robbery that occurred on Sunday, February 24, 2024 at 3:37 PM in Hewlett.
 
According to Detectives, a male subject entered a King Kullen located at 1765 Peninsula Boulevard and took several pieces of merchandise. He then attempted to pass all points of purchase and exit the store without paying when a security guard attempted to stop him. A physical altercation occurred in which the subject dropped the merchandise and fled the store in an unknown direction. No injuries reported at scene. The investigation is ongoing.
 
The subject is described a male black, 45-50 years of age, 5’6’’ tall and weighing approximately 160 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, black jackets, black pants and black shoes.
