Smithtown, NY - January 30, 2018 - Suffolk County Legislator Robert Trotta recently congratulated Joshua Witt of Boy Scout Troop 125 for achieving the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout. He is also the fourth scout on his street to become an Eagle Scout.

For his Eagle Scout Project, Josh designed and constructed four picnic tables with benches for the Smithtown Historical Society. Through various fundraisers he was able to purchase all of the supplies he needed for his project.

“The fact that you became an Eagle Scout before you turned 18 is indicative of your character, your ability to be a leader and to work with other people. This rank is a recognition that will stay with you for the rest of your life,” said Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta, who represents the district. “What you have done is very impressive and people will expect more from you,” added Legislator Trotta.

Legislator Robert Trotta represents the 13th Legislative District, and serves on the Legislature’s Economic Development, Parks & Recreation and Veterans Committees.
