West Hills County Park is a charming county park with well-maintained nature trails including the historic Walt Whitman Trail to Jayne’s Hill, Long Island’s highest peak with an elevation of 400 feet. Camping is available at West Hills for organized youth groups only with campsites, lean-tos and primitive shelters available year round. Beautiful bridal paths are open to the public for those with privately owned horses or leased horses from the onsite Sweet Hills Stables. Starflower Experiences, Inc. offers environmental education programs for children at Sweet Hollow Hall, which is handicap accessible.
