Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrest During Eviction – Seizes Loaded Gun, Drugs, Cash

On Monday, July 17, 2023, at approximately 10:10 a.m., Suffolk County Deputy Sheriffs arrested a man while executing a warrant of eviction in Coram, NY.

 

James V Scavetta, 31, of Coram, NY was arrested and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, one count each of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd and 7th degree, and two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia.

 

Mr. Scavetta unlawfully possessed a loaded, unregistered firearm, a large capacity ammunition feeding device and brass knuckles as well as a quantity of cocaine, packaging material and a scale. Over $1,800 was also recovered.
