The Collaborate with Edge Conference, Long Island’s premier women’s leadership conference, produced annually by The Ivy Network, is going virtual and Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul is going to open up the conference on June 16, 2020.
The conference will be a virtual mini version of a full, live conference that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic that has disrupted our way of life, was moved to October 6, 2020. It will have sessions and keynotes that will focus on leadership and leading in a time of crisis. The conference theme is “The Power Is Us,” and like ones before it, deliver a message of empowering women and inspiring leadership.
The Collaborate with Edge Conference arose out of a need to bring together and develop supportive networks for Long Island’s professional women. Many of the well-known local businesses, like Bethpage Credit Union, Canon, PSEG, Newsday, and large roster of others, are conference sponsors and support its goal to reach across generations to bring professional women together for leadership development, networking and as a resource for each other.
“Our Mini Conference going virtual is really unique,” says Ivy Algazy, CEO of The Ivy Network. She adds, “It shows our innovation, pivoting with the times. I have not heard of another organization doing a virtual complete conference.”
“The Collaborate with Edge Conference provides women with a great collaborative outlet to discuss business and leadership, particularly during this challenging time with the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul. “I commend Ivy Algazy and The Ivy Network for taking this resourceful conference virtual and focusing on women, empowerment and leadership while many struggle to balance the difficulties of work, home, child care, and more. We know women are disproportionately impacted by the Coronavirus and in their everyday lives, and it’s conferences like these that help advance the conversation, elevate women, and implement change.”
The virtual conference will be delivered through a Whova conference app with Zoom and will include Sessions followed by a virtual happy hour. Sponsors will have virtual exhibit booths and can deliver their content through virtual channels.
