A bold burglar targeted Classic Carwash in Westbury, prying open the front door with a crowbar, damaging the cash register without stealing any proceeds, prompting detectives to seek public assistance in solving the case.

The Third Squad reports the details of a Burglary that occurred on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 4:43 am in Westbury.
 
According to Detectives, Third Precinct officers responded to Classic Carwash, located at 39 Old Country Road for a Commercial Burglary. Upon police arrival it was determined that an unknown male had pried open the front door using a crow bar and entered the business. Further investigation revealed that a cash register was damaged but no proceeds were taken.
 
The subject fled on foot northbound on South Grand Street. The investigation is ongoing. The subject is described as a male wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, white shoes, white gloves and a white facemask.
