Hampton Bays, NY - December 6, 2018 - Suffolk County Legislator Anker recently attended a public hearing for the Suffolk County Office for the Aging at the Town of Southampton Senior Center in Hampton Bays. The purpose of the hearing was to allow the public to comment on the programs and services the Office for the Aging plans to provide in the coming year.

“My legislative district encompasses one of the largest senior citizens’ populations in Suffolk County, said Legislator Anker. “As Chairwoman of the Seniors and Consumer Protection Legislative Committee, I will continue to work closely with the Office for the Aging to help facilitate programs and provide resources that best support our senior residents.”

For over 40 years, Suffolk County Office for the Aging has administered federal, state and county programs for senior citizens. Specific goals for the Office are to develop a comprehensive service system designed to assist persons 60 years of age and older in maintaining maximum independence and dignity, to remove barriers to economic and personal independence, and to provide a continuum of care for the vulnerable elderly.
