Arrest Made in Connection with Stabbing Death of Freeport Man, Police Say

Hempstead, NY - May 15, 2018 - Defendant Roy Christmas, 36, homeless, was arrested for a Homicide that occurred on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 4:20 a.m. in Hempstead
 
According to detectives, Hempstead police responded to a call for a man stabbed on Warner Avenue. The male victim, William Pinckney of Freeport, 57, was transported to Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased by a staff physician at 4:57 a.m.
 
Roy Christmas is charged with Murder 2nd Degree and will be arraigned Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at First District Court, Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
