Suffolk County Authorities Report Body Found in Great South Bay

Sayville, NY - May 1, 2017 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a man who was found in the Great South Bay in Sayville last night.
A ferry crew observed the body of a man in the Great South Bay, ¾ of a mile south of Browns River Road, at approximately 8 p.m. and called police.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was wearing a black T-shirt, black jeans and black sneakers.
An autopsy will be conducted by the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
