Steaks with Wild Mushroom Sauce

    Ingredients

    • 1 small finely chopped Onion
      8 oz. pkg. sliced Mushrooms
      1 tbsp. Salad oil
      1/2 tsp. ground Black pepper
      4 3/4 inch thick Shell steaks
      22 oz. pkg. frozen Waffle fries or french fries
      1 1/2 oz. Cream of wild mushroom soup mix
      1/2 cup Milk

    Directions

    1. 1) Preheat oven to 450 degrees F. Bake waffle fries as label directs.

      2) Meanwhile, sprinkle steaks with pepper. In nonstick 12-inch skillet over medium- high heat, in hot salad oil, cook 2 steaks 5 to 6 minutes for rare or until of desired doneness, turning steaks once. Remove steaks to platter; keep warm. Repeat with remaining 2 steaks.

      3) In drippings in skillet, cook mushrooms and onion, stirring frequently, until mushrooms and onion are golden and tender.

      4) Stir in mushroom soup mix, milk, and 1 1/4 cups water; over high heat, heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low; simmer mushroom sauce 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

      5) Serve steaks with mushroom sauce and waffle fries.
