B.K. Sweeney's Parkside Tavern functions as the main gathering place for many Bethpagers and visitors to the area. It's seen too in its second role as the 19th hole of the five superb golf courses located within Bethpage State Park, moments away. In the middle of the village, the Tavern operated for years as the Central Park Inn. Now completely renovated, it suggests an English club with rich oak appointments and dark green accents.
The food is delicious and hearty. Super steaks, homemade chicken pot pies, pastas and in-your-face-fresh seafood head the menu and may be ordered at the bar or at your table. Its patrons are serious sports fans, so 22 satellite TVs beam in the action, yet if quiet dining is your thing, then there are many nooks in which to tuck away from the tube. This upscale place is child-friendly and family-oriented. Dress is neat casual, as it is at all B.K. Sweeney's establishments.
