NCPD: Two Men Arrested for Baldwin Bank Robbery

Baldwin, NY - December 31st, 2013 - The Robbery Squad reports the arrest of two Hempstead men for an armed bank robbery that occurred on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 2:42 p.m. in Baldwin.

According to detectives, Isaiah Hunter 20, of 148 Princeton Street and Essix Robinson, 21 of 244 Brown Street entered the Bank of America located at 2300 Grand Avenue and announced a robbery. Hunter displayed a hand gun and verbally ordered the two employees and eight customers to the ground, while Robinson jumped over the teller counter and removed an undetermined amount of U.S. Currency from the drawers. They fled in a light colored, 4 door vehicle driven by a third unknown subject. Responding officers from the First Precinct along with Bureau of Special Operations officers were able to locate the defendants on Babylon Turnpike, Freeport and place them under arrest without incident. The proceeds and a hand gun were recovered. One female customer was transported to an area hospital with minor knee pain.

Both defendants are charged with Robbery 1st degree, Robbery 2nd degree, and Criminal Use of a Firearm 1st degree. During the investigation it was discovered that Robinson has two open warrants. The defendants will be arraigned on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
